Christian Celeste Tate is running for New York State Assembly in District 54 — and this race will decide who Albany answers to: real estate money, or working families.
I wrote recently in The Indypendent about what’s at stake. The incumbent has taken major real estate industry money while childhood lead poisoning, displacement, and neglect continue in our district. Meanwhile, Christian is organizing in the neighborhoods most politicians only visit at election time.
He’s clear:
Housing for people — not speculation.
Health care access.
Real community safety through youth programs and mental health investment.
Protection for immigrant neighbors. - BAN ICE!
No triangulating. No hiding what he stands for.
Now it’s time to build momentum.

Christian Celeste Tate—known as “CCT”—is a 31-year-old anti-poverty activist. During Mamdani’s mayoral run, he led a team of more than 200 volunteers canvassing the eastern part of AD 54, where Mamdani struggled in the primary. Tate has received the coveted DSA endorsement, which guarantees an army of volunteers.
This district is winnable. The margin last cycle was razor thin. The old machine is vulnerable.
