Vox Pop: Getting Close to a ReLaunch!
The legendary social justice incubator/ peace center/ coffeehouse is coming back, 20 years later!
Here is a quick update on the exciting news, the re-launch of the legendary Vox Pop coffeehouse project.
What is Vox Pop?
It is the gathering place for the electrical magic of human connection.
It is “Books, Coffee, Democracy” - a radical bookstore, a peace center, a coffeehouse, light restaurant, and live events space.Dedicated to the incubation of social justice and a rebirth of equality.
Founded in 2004, in Brooklyn, NY. 20 years later, the relaunch!
Better than ever as a new worker-owned cooperative.
Vox Pop is the coffeehouse to change the world!
We have an excellent business plan, growth strategy and plan to franchise in the future.
We are working on developing our own social network online that can help activists and use community/networks for social change and causes. So there’s a strong tech component.
www.voxpop.nyc is the site, and there's a perky video intro there.
The latest business plan is also there. As is the professional valuation we had done. Our financial analyst projects the entity will be worth $2.4MM in five years.
We have a core Vox Pop Cooperative in place, of five members, ready to GO. We are all committed NYC activists ready to serve. Most of us also serve on the new Vox Pop Board of Directors.
We have this new location in Bed-Stuy, on Nostrand Ave, and we are eager to negotiate a lease there. It’s about 1400 SF, and it already has a fully built-out bar and kitchen. You can see the new location possibility, via video, at the link above. No lease yet, but we are close because....This Thursday, December 12, we are expecting good news from a local Credit Union, about a nice sized loan to help us launch.
We are on the lookout for “Friends and Family Investors.” We are developing a long list of possible Friends and Investors. Let us know if you can think of any?
For more information on the “tech component” please see this brief project description, here.
